- Targeted Muscle Groups:
How to perform?
The dumbbell shrug is an isolation exercise that primarily targets the trapezius muscle in the upper back. To perform this exercise, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing inward. Shrug your shoulders up toward your ears, squeezing your trapezius muscles at the top of the movement, then slowly lower your shoulders back down to the starting position. This exercise can help to improve your posture, strengthen your upper back muscles, and reduce your risk of injury.
